How to find us
Vienna General Hospital is easy to reach by public transportation as well as by car.
Public transportation:
Subway: Line U6, Michelbeuern station. The pedestrian bridge leads directly to the main entrance.
Streetcar: Line 5 and 33, Lazarettgasse stop
Night bus: Lines N6 and N64 stop on Währinger Gürtel in the immediate vicinity of the main entrance
Cab:
Stands in front of the main entrance or Lazarettgasse entrance.
CAR:
Please note that the entire city area is a short-term parking zone. It is therefore advisable to use the AKH parking garage (capacity: approx. 2,600 parking spaces).
Directions: Innerer Währinger Gürtel, after the traffic lights at Borschkegasse turn right down the ramp.
Attention: Please use the middle lane of the ramp and pay attention to the "Kurzparker" sign on the overhead sign.
Disabled parking spaces with the associated infrastructure (access ramps and automatic doors at the elevator) can be found at Boxenstraße 410.
Tips for the AKH underground parking garage:
- As a short-term parker, your vehicle will be parked on level 4.
- The pit lanes are numbered in ascending order from the entrance.
- Access to the AKH is only possible via level 5.
- If you enter the AKH from the underground parking garage on level 5, please note the corresponding labeling of the exit (e.g. 406, 306, 206 and 407, 307, 207, which means that this exit leads to pit lanes 6 and 7 on levels 2 to 4).
- The ticket machines are located on level 5 to the right and left of the doors of the passageway connecting the entrance hall with the central building.
