10/2023_Venia docendi: Mario Rothbauer was awarded the „Venia docendi“ (highest authorisation to teach) for the subject "Biomedical Research" based on his postdoctoral thesis "The complexity and scaling of the dynamic cell microenvironment are critical to a natural architecture, structure and function of human 3D tissue models". In addition, he recently took over the position as deputy head of the Karl Chiari Lab for Orthopaedic Biology (KCLOB).

04/2023_Stefan Toegel appointed as new PhD program coordinator: In April 2023, Stefan Toegel was appointed by the Medical University of Vienna as coordinator of the PhD program "Musculoskeletal and Dental Research". He took over the position from Prof. Peter Pietschmann and will share it with Prof. Oleh Andrukov from the University Clinic of Dentistry to mantain and further develop the high quality of the interdisciplinary program.
 

10/2022_Visit by Prof. Ali Mobasheri: On October 17, Ali Mobasheri, Professor at the University of Oulu, Finland and Immediate Past President of the Osteoarthritis Research Society International (OARSI), met up with Stefan Toegel at the KCLOB to discuss various topics including osteoarthritis, glycobiology, and future joint network activities.

09/2022_New team member: With September 2022, Christine Strauß will complement our team at the KCLOB. As a PhD student under the supervision of Stefan Toegel and Silvia Hayer from the Division of Rheumatology, she will be part of the the Program Line 'Pathophysiology of the Joint' of the 'Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for Arthritis and Rehabilitation'.
